Made from the exact same leaves as the Li Yu Lu Fengqing Wild Tree Red Tea, this young sheng puerh comes from a batch of around 500 old trees (some of which are more than 1,000 years old) living at 2000 meters above sea level that were once planted and cultivated but have been left to grow untended for hundreds of years. The planted trees have mixed over time with wild trees that sprung up spontaneously. This grove therefore has a nice variety of ages and cultivars, which makes this tea, like the Li Yu Lu Fengqing Wild Red, a kind of manifest or record of the history of tea. It is rich, balanced, complex, and completely unique: the truly wild trees bring with them a fresh, floral nose while the old, planted trees provide fruitiness, a strong tannic structure, and a nice, aromatic richness. Li Yu Lu masterfully oversees the entire process, from plucking to withering to compression.

Instructions: 3-4 g tea, 6-8 oz. of 208° water. Steep once for 5-10 seconds then dump this liquid. Steep again for 15-20 seconds and enjoy. Then start flash steeping: 1-2 seconds for each steep. Repeat 7-8 times. Then start adding a few seconds each time.
